Local Place Plan
A Local Place Plan (LPP) is a new type of community-led plan, introduced by Section 14 of the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019. This gives communities the opportunity to come up with proposals for the development and use of land in their local area. In 2023 Abbey St Bathans, Bonkyl and Preston Community Council (ABPCC), along with the Preston & Abbey Community Trust (PACT) started to process of creating a Local Place Plan for our area. Consultation events with residents took place in September 2023, January 2024 and March 2025. The information and views gathered from these events have informed the content of our LPP and associated action plan. This plan has now been accepted by Scottish Borders Council and is available for you to view using the link below.
